Hi my name Kristy Grant, creator and owner of Sporty Girl Apparel, I grew up in the sportfishing industry. My father, Captain Bobby Grant, has influenced my lifelong passion not only with fishing but also in hunting. Almost All the designs in my line are originally drawn and painted by me, so I not only pour my heart and soul into the company but also the art that is the center of the line.
Even as a little girl I enjoyed drawing fish and wildlife scenes, when I was not drawing I would spend my time engaging in anything that was outdoors: four wheeling, mudding, horseback riding, fishing, spearfishing and hunting. One thing I noticed for years was that in order to show off your passion for the outdoors it would have to be by wearing men's shirts. So that's where the idea started I wanted to look classy but still show off my outdoor passion-Well lots have changed since 2008 when I started the line. Now there are lots more options for women's fashionable hunting and fishing themed clothing and more and more companies are popping up every year. I'm happy to have been one of the few who started at the beginning of the growing female industry in outdoor apparel and am so Thankful that business is only growing for us.
I was only 20 years old when I started this brand and thankfully to my family and supporters I have been able to continue with this dream.
Sporty Girl is a line of clothing that is centered to express a women’s passion for what she loves. There are many women in the world that love the ocean and the woods and the beautiful wildlife that inhabits these environments. Those women would love to have a piece of clothing that symbolizes their passion for the outdoors and looks fashionable. Whether in a tree stand or a turkey blind, out at hunting camp, fishing on a boat, hanging out at a marina or just out on the town you’ll always be DRESSED TO KILL when wearing Sporty Girl.
